Taste of a Good Cause raises $3,115 as Hospitality Concordia preps for holiday lunches
The fall 2025 semester is off to a strong start for Hospitality Concordia, marked by the success of the Taste of a Good Cause event on October 1.
Showcasing Concordia’s talented university-approved caterers, the event drew crowds from across campus to sample delicious bites and connect over a shared cause. Together, participants raised $3,115 for the Student Emergency Meal Plan.
The fund provides food assistance to students experiencing financial hardship and can be accessed through various student services across campus.
“Every successful event is powered by a community that cares,” said Sarah Dorrell-Caille, director of Hospitality Concordia.
“We’re grateful to everyone who attended, to the caterers who generously donated their food, time, and talent, and to the ongoing support that helps us make a real difference for students.”
Next stop: Holiday cheer, now with mocktails
While most people are still figuring out their Halloween costumes, the Hospitality Concordia team has already hit fast-forward to festive mode. Cue the jingle bells.
Next on the festive calendar is one of Concordia’s favourite annual traditions: Community Holiday Lunches, taking place once again on both campuses on:
- December 2, from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. at the Loyola Jesuit Conference Centre at Loyola campus.
- December 11, from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m., now in the MB9 Conference Centre on the Sir George Williams campus. The new location provides a warmer and comfortable space with great views of the city.
No matter which location you choose, here’s what’s on the menu: festive décor, a catered holiday lunch, seasonal mocktails, merry music, and a new option to reserve tables with friends or colleagues.
“It’s one of the few moments in the year when the whole community starts to slow down, and people take a moment to connect,” said Dorrell-Caille. “It’s not only about the meal, but also about the sense of community.”
More details will be shared soon, but for now, Concordia’s unofficial holiday countdown has begun.
