The Universities Art Association of Canada 2012 Conference to be held at Concordia University 1-3 November.

The Department of Art History at Concordia University, with additional support from the Faculty of Fine Arts, is pleased to host the 2012 edition of the annual conference of the Universities Art Association of Canada (UAAC) November 1 through 3. UAAC is the largest professional organization for the study of the visual arts in Canada, and the conference will gather scholars from across the country and internationally. The more than 160 presenters will give papers on a wide array of topics from medieval architecture and sustainable design to intersections between art and neuroscience and contemporary Indigenous performance art. A keynote address by noted visual culture scholar Jonathan D. Katz on "Art, Sex and the Sixties" will take place on Friday 2 November at 6:00 pm and will be open to the public. In conjunction with the conference, the FOFA Gallery is presenting Contested Site: Archives and the City an exhibition of Concordia fine arts alumni, faculty and students from October 22 to November 16.
