In a recent interview with the Groupe des aidants du Sud-Ouest (GASO), CSLP member and certified music therapist Annabelle Brault discussed the Music and Wellness workshops she has been offering there since 2019. Held twice monthly, the sessions are tailored to caregivers and use music as a tool for creativity, communication, and renewal.
Participants engage in activities such as song sharing, guided imagery, improvisation, and lyric analysis. The workshops aim to reduce stress, isolation, and burnout while fostering resilience, self-awareness, and emotional regulation.
Reflecting on her work, Brault emphasized the joy of seeing participants gradually weave music into their daily lives as a source of balance and well-being.
“Music becomes a tool for creativity, communication, and renewal—no musical skills required, only an open mind.”
