Do you want to improve your English? Are you looking for resources to help support your written and spoken grammar?

This Grammar workshop is one of two stand-alone grammar workshops open to all graduate students at Concordia University. This workshop gives participants a solid foundation needed to move toward producing polished papers, reports, and theses at an advanced level. The workshop aims to help face some of the most persistent challenges with English grammar – namely, challenges related to the use of prepositions, relative clauses, expletives, and misplaced and dangling modifiers.

For more help with grammar, be sure to also register for English Grammar: articles, verbs, and passive voice. Note that neither of the two workshops is a prerequisite for the other.

Register by Sunday, January 25.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Identify some of the most common English mistakes related to prepositions, relative clauses, expletives, and modifiers;
  • Recognize and correct such grammar problems when they appear in texts;
  • Apply grammar-related specificities of English in their own writing.
