You are invited to take part in a hands-on, beginner-friendly workshop on horror filmmaking, led by film director Sean Cisterna.

This free interactive workshop is designed specifically for amateur media makers. Participants will be guided through the four key phases of filmmaking (pre-production, production, post-production, and distribution) through accessible, concrete examples. The session focuses on low-budget, independent filmmaking, showing how creative projects can take shape with limited resources, collaboration, and imagination.

Everyone is invited but we particularly encourage older adults who are curious about storytelling, film, or creative experimentation to take part. Snacks and refreshments will be served. This workshop is organized in conjunction with the Montreal screening of the documentary film Silver Screamers on May 5.

Registration is required and spaces are limited!

To reserve your spot for the May 4 workshop, please email constance.lafontaine@concordia.ca. Please mention any accessibility needs you may have.

This event is organized by the ACT Lab’s Aging in Data project and the engAGE Centre for Research on Aging. The event is also part of the Recipes for the Future project with financial support from the Government of Canada, in collaboration with the New Hope Senior Citizens’ Centre.
