A woman with long dark hair, a grey sweater and black pants and socks sits in a wooden chair. Three photos show her performing a series of seated dance movements. In the first movement her body is turned towards the left and her right leg is extended behind her. She is holding her hands up at eye-level, keeping her arms straight. In the second photo, she is sitting with her knees together. She is holding her hands with her elbows extended and they are reaching towards the right corner of the chair. In the last photo she sits with her left arm resting across her lap and her right arm extended to the side. A series of seated dance movements from Rosas Danst Rosas Remix.

This is the first in a series of engAGE Student Presentations and will feature the research of Emma H. Chen, a PhD candidate in the Department of Health, Kinesiology and Applied Physiology and the engAGE Student Representative.

Part 1 of the session will begin with a brief presentation on how dance can be used as a fun and engaging method of improving strength and balance. Part 2 will feature an interactive 30 minute dance workshop based on Rosas Danst Rosas Remix Project. This choreographic activity will comprise 6 movements that can be completed seated or standing.

No dance experience is required! The session will conclude with time for student and community discussion. Access theom Zoom link.
