Concordia University Library warmly invites you to join us for a Wikipedia Edit-a-thon as part of Misinformation March 2026 — a hands-on workshop where you can learn to edit Wikipedia and contribute to free, open knowledge.
Register at FutureBound, or simply show up! Open to everyone!
Have you ever come across information that you later discovered to be false? Misinformation and disinformation erode trust and affect our interactions both online and in everyday life. At this edit-a-thon, you'll have the opportunity to be part of the solution.
The session will include:
A presentation and discussion on fake news, mis- and disinformation, and how to assess reliable sources
Hands-on training to edit content and create pages on Wikipedia
Feel free to drop in for a quick edit or stay for the full session — all levels of experience are welcome. No prior Wikipedia knowledge is required. Just bring your curiosity!
We especially encourage participation from people who are underrepresented on Wikipedia, including women, members of 2SLGBTQI+ communities, Indigenous people, and people from racialized or ethnocultural communities.
Your facilitators will be:
Hélène Brousseau, Digital Media and Visual Resources Librarian
Joshua Chalifour, Digital Scholarship Librarian
Melissa Rivosecchi, Head, Vanier Library
Liam Dearin, Student Librarian
Hannah Nelson-Teusch, Student Librarian
Madelyn Cranberry, Student Librarian
