Some publishers now require that data supporting published research be made publicly available at the time of publication. On top of increasing the impact of your research, sharing data promotes transparency, reproducibility and progress. This workshop will provide essential tips and best practices for managing your research data, in an effort to ensure you are best positioned to share your research data when your project is finished. Ethical considerations, as well as possible venues for data deposit will be discussed.
In this workshop, participants will learn:
• The importance of managing and sharing research data
• How to apply best practices for file organization, documentation, and dissemination
• How to assess which data repositories are best suited for sharing their data
