5-Minute Research Talks (5MRT) Postdoctoral Showcase

How much can you learn about cutting-edge research in just five minutes?

Join us for Concordia’s first 5-Minute Research Showcase, where postdoctoral scholars from across disciplines take on the challenge to present their research in an accessible, engaging and compelling way for a broad audience.

Inspired by research communication formats such as the 3-Minute Thesis competition, the showcase challenges researchers to communicate the purpose, significance and impact of their work using visuals and storytelling. Each presenter will have up to five minutes to introduce the questions driving their research and why they matter.

The event celebrates the diverse research being carried out by Concordia’s postdoctoral community while giving researchers an opportunity to strengthen their communication and presentation skills, connect with audiences beyond their fields and spark new interdisciplinary conversations. The 5-Minute Research Talks model is designed specifically for postdoctoral scholars and emphasizes knowledge translation, effective presentation design and audience engagement.
