Join us for the new episode recording of The Iron Ring Podcast, where WIE hosts Maria Abou Ghazaly, Zineb Bamouh and Srabanti Mazumdar share their experiences navigating engineering at different stages of their academic journeys.
Through the perspective of women navigating a traditionally male-dominated field, the conversation aims to bridge the gap between newer and more experienced engineering students. From academics and internships to finding balance, building connections, and navigating university life, we’ll reflect on what we’ve learned, the challenges we’ve faced, and what we wish we had known when starting out.
How can you participate? Join us in person, or online by registering for the Zoom Meeting. You can also watch live on YouTube.

Maria is a fourth-year Mechanical Engineering student and has been part of Women in Engineering for the past three years. As the current Co-President, she hopes to make WIE feel like a community rather than just a student association, a space where women in engineering can build genuine connections, and find opportunities and support to grow both personally and professionally.
Zineb is a fourth year Computer Engineering student. Now in her third year with Women in Engineering, she currently serves as VP External. Having been involved with WIE throughout much of her university experience, she values the connections and experiences that come from being part of the engineering community and hopes to contribute to making that community more welcoming and connected.
Srab is a fourth-year Software Engineering student and is currently in her fourth year with Women in Engineering, where she serves as Director of the Iron Ring Podcast. She first joined WIE as Director of Experience, where she was also the host of the Iron Ring Podcast, making her return to the podcast this year a full-circle moment. Over the years, WIE has become an important part of her university experience, giving her the chance to grow, connect with others, and contribute to a community she has been part of since her first year.
