Walking Practices and Urban Imaginaries

In response to William Couture's graduation project Deconstructing the street: an urban imaginary, Carole Lévesque, professor at UQÀM's School of Design, will present her methodology of urban exploration. Through an overview of her most recent work, she will introduce a method articulated through the generative relationship between drawing and walking practices.

Among other things, Professor Lévesque will present her research on the urban vagueness (le vague urbain): a place that generates resilience and anchors for cities in transformation. Her unique take on the architectural representation of leftover urban spaces will be shown as a means of challenging what seems to be generally considered as the “adequate urban landscape.”

MDES22 Research-Creation Show

Consider it a large showroom of different ideas in design domains that will present, teach and inspire new ideas for you. The MDES22-research-creation show is Concordia University’s graduation show in design. In the exhibition, the students will display their designs and creations pertaining to their thesis. There will also be a series of different roundtables and workshops concerning research-creation topics. This exhibition will surely benefit the visitors who are interested in multidisciplinary design.
