Renu Vaish, BSc 89

Vice President, Worldwide Cell Therapy, Regulatory Affairs at Kite Pharma/Subsidiary of Gilead Sciences

Renu is an experienced leader in Regulatory Affairs with extensive experience in drug development ranging from pre-clinical to commercial in oncology (immuno-oncology and cellular therapy).

In her current role at Kite, Renu is responsible for the global strategies to develop and gain regulatory approval for the cell therapy portfolio. She is a member of the Gilead SoCal Board for Women, co-lead for the Women at Gilead Circles Group, and is a member of several industry trade associations. As a healthcare executive working in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry for over 25 years, Renu has had the honor of mentoring various colleagues in her career and would value the opportunity to contribute to others interested in the healthcare industry or who aspire to work in this area.

In addition to being a core member of teams executing on the development, registration and commercialization strategies for several programs, she served on due diligence teams in the evaluation of potential business development opportunities and was part of multiple Joint Steering committees with external partners providing strategic input on key development programs. Renu has a Master’s degree in Regulatory Affairs and Health Policy from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences and a Bachelor’s degree in cell and molecular biology from Concordia University.

Lawrence Madanda, BSc 90

Managing Partner at PürHealth Technologies

An entrepreneurial business leader with global experience in "disruptive technology” marketing, business development and management. International experience in executive management positions based in the Americas (Montreal, Canada), Europe (London, England) and Asia (Seoul, South Korea). Following a 20+ year career in major corporations, transitioned to the start-up world holding leadership positions in several young tech companies. Currently on my own Founder's journey to bring several innovative technologies to market for the post-pandemic world.

Karen Pugliese, BA 92

Partner Leader, Americas for CommScope

Karen is a prominent leader widely recognized as strategic with a passion to win and a purposeful approach to business. Visionary, creative, and courageous, her depth of business expertise and leadership has re-energized CommScope’s growth objective substantially expanding their business during her tenure.

In her role with CommScope, Karen oversees the indirect partner channel, national partner management, and the full suite of CommScope solutions to enterprise partners across the Americas. 

Over the past 15+ years, Karen has worked in various executive roles with GE Capital, GE Healthcare, Stanley Security, and Katz Group, contributing to her extensive business acumen and perspective of technology as a business enabler.

A sought-after speaker, on topics ranging from Women in Leadership and Mentorship to the spotlight on Smart Buildings and Smart Cities, the breadth of her knowledge and experience offers insightful perspectives. Karen sits on multiple boards, most recently nominated to the board of C4 – Channel Chiefs, Women in Communications and Technology, responsible for Sponsorship.

Joseph Alfie, BComm 10

Senior Investment Advisor, Myriad Private Wealth with iA Private Wealth

In 2006, Joseph co-founded Myriad Private Wealth with his colleagues and opened a family office in the heart of Old Montreal. Their independence allows them to build portfolios comprised of etf’s, stocks, funds and alternative investment strategies creating real diversification for their clients.

Joseph works closely with high net worth families to help them demystify the complexities of their finances. Clients can count on his extensive knowledge on wealth management, estate planning, strategic portfolio tax planning and on being extremely hands on. Today, Joseph represents some of the leading business owners in their respective industry, and he loves to see them grow.
