Poster for Disability Justice & Building Accessible Communities in Higher Education, a March 10, 2026 panel at Concordias SHIFT Centre.
What does it mean to build a truly accessible campus, not just through policy, but through care, community and lived experience
This panel brings together students, educators and accessibility advocates for a community-centred conversation on disability justice in higher education. Grounded in both lived experience and professional knowledge, the discussion will explore how we can create academic spaces that are more accessible, caring and responsive to the needs of disabled students, staff and faculty.
Attendees can expect an introductory educational segment, panel discussion and community Q&A, followed by time to mingle over provided catering (vegan and allergan free options readily offered). Whether you are a student, educator, support worker or community member, this event offers a chance to learn from diverse perspectives, reflect on the barriers that still shape campus life, and imagine more just and inclusive futures together.
The event takes place on March 10, 2026, at the SHIFT Centre for Social Transformation, Room LB-145, 1400 De Maisonneuve Blvd. West, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m., the program beginning at 6:00 p.m., and the panel discussion starting at 6:30 p.m. Zoom access is available.
