In this session, we will engage in meaningful discussion on racial hierarchies from a historical perspective and the ways it is being constructed in the present. The normalization of dominant culture and how it protects itself at the level of the institution, communally and in micro-interactions within education, including classroom practices, will be explored.
Let’s engage in important conversation about racial hierarchies in order to move past defensiveness, denial, guilt and shame; and move towards a place of social and moral responsibility and action in our classrooms and workspaces.
For online sessions, please note that the Zoom link will be provided 24 hours before the start of the workshop.
