A big screen viewing of a carefully curated selection of beautiful animated short films. Numerous styles and techniques from the 1960s to today will be on display in a variety of projection-quality works from around the world.
Dedicated to the resilience of women and gender diverse peoples and commemorating the École Polytechnique massacre, this screening explores animation's ability to resist, subvert, and transgress violence, while expressing joy, freedom, and agency in the face of oppression.
Several filmmakers will be in attendance. All earnings will be donated towards the Concordia Robert del Tredici Animation Studies award, and Chez Doris. The event is sponsored by CUPFA.
