Join Concordia’s Jurist-in-Residence, Morton S. Minc, for an engaging discussion with Julie Gascon, President and CEO of the Port of Montreal.

This conversation will explore the leadership and decision-making that drive one of Canada’s most important transportation hubs, the future of sustainable maritime operations, and the challenges of managing complex systems that connect industries, communities and economies.

Open to: Students in the Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science, law students and the general public.

Law Meets Engineering Lecture Series

Concordia Jurist-in-Residence Morton Minc is hosting a series of law-related lectures given by prominent speakers geared to all Gina Cody School students. These lectures will tackle topics that will be very useful in their professional lives.

Guest speaker

Julie Gascon has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Montreal Port Authority since February 12, 2024. A graduate of the Canadian Coast Guard College, she holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration (Université de Montréal) and a Bachelor of Technology in Nautical Science (Cape Breton University).

A Master Mariner, she sailed with the Canadian Coast Guard and on international vessels before holding senior leadership roles at Transport Canada and the Canadian Coast Guard. Prior to joining the Port of Montreal, she was Chief Executive Officer of the Pacific Pilotage Authority. She also serves on the boards of the Chamber of Marine Commerce and Montréal International.
