The Hero Next Door. Stories of Caring, Ideas About Caring. On Instagram @hero_nextdoor

Most of us have ideas of what would make the world a better place. But we may have a much a murkier sense about how we might contribute to that world. In this 1½ hour workshop, Professor Marilyn Fitzpatrick will discuss how connecting with a core value can help us act in ways that make our lives richer and make the world better. Sharing the stories of people who have taken small values-based initiatives for their communities, Marilyn will highlight how core values get realized. Participants will begin to articulate a core value and to describe actions around that value that excite them. Together, we will explore some resistances to action, including the perennial idea that we are all too busy. Marilyn will share strategies to help you start small on a journey to making your core value the core of your life. And while you are doing that, you just might be making the world a better place.
