This online event is presented in collaboration with Alzheimer Groupe Inc. (AGI) and Concordia University's engAGE Centre for Research on Aging.
After over 20 years of practical experience as a music therapist, Ruth Watkiss (MTA) is conducting research examining how Community Music Therapy (CoMT) to enhance the quality of life for people living with dementia in Adult Day Centres in Ontario.
Ruth's research advocates for a relational, strengths-based approach that values social connection, identity, and empowerment, positioning CoMT as a culturally relevant and person-centred alternative that supports well-being through meaningful musical engagement.
Join us on June 18 to hear Ruth discuss her research, and learn more about the engAGE Centre from Associate Director Laurel Young.
