Jessica Barile
Jessica Barile is a multimedia journalist with experience in radio,TV, print and digital platforms. She works at CityNews as a national digital producer and reports news for Montreal, Edmonton and Winnipeg. She previously worked as a radio newscaster and technical producer for CJAD 800 in Montreal.
Before that Jessica interned as a print journalist for a non-profit news organization in Washington, DC. She interned as a video and digital reporter at CTV News Montreal, while interning Jessica got two stories she pitched and worked on that made it to CTV News National. Jessica also completed a fellowship as a video reporter for Narcity Media/MTL blog.
Jessica graduated Concordia University from the undergraduate program in Sociology; during this time is when she discovered her passion for the journalism field while taking a journalism elective and volunteering at Concordia’s radio station CJLO as a newscaster and content producer. She went on to earn a Graduate Diploma in Visual Journalism and a master’s degree in the Digital Innovation in Journalism Studies program.
While studying, Jessica won a few awards including the Inaugural CJF-Narcity News Creator Fellowship, the Blue Metropolis Foundation Literary Essay Award and Le Fonds CDPQ pour la relève journalistique.
