Research interests

Teacher agency (especially in relation to burnout), as well as a budding interest in the importance of tangents in forming teacher identity and a positive classroom environment.

Valuable aspects of studying at Concordia

I heard about the high expectations and trust Concordia’s DOE has in the competence of their students. I wanted to be pushed and challenged both intellectually and creatively, so I felt that Concordia’s reputation made it the perfect place for that.

I came to this department to be challenged, but I did not expect just how much I would be. The professors as well as other students are so full of different viewpoints and ideas that you spend most of your semester being completely destabilized while utterly driven to put your own voice out there.

In Montreal, I love cycling, listening to music, discovering new foods, and playing videogames. You can typically find me doing any of those things in and around Montreal (if you are considering coming here from abroad, know that we have a great and varied music scene as well as fantastic venues).

Advice for potential applicants

Do not be afraid to ask for guidance or to bounce ideas off of professors and other students. Of course, everyone is busy, and you should be understanding in that regard, but everyone is also more than happy to help however they can (which will make a world of a difference for you, believe me).
