What will digital media look like post-pandemic? Ask Ashkan.

Entrepreneur and digital guru Ashkan Karbasfrooshan, BComm 99, will share his personal insights into the current state of digital media, what crisis management means, and his vision for the future of the industry.

As the founding force behind Watchmojo — a global digital media powerhouse with 35 million subscribers — Ashkan is an authority on the evolution of digital storytelling, marketing and media.

Join him in conversation with freelance journalist, broadcaster and podcaster Julian McKenzie, BA 16, as they discuss lessons Ashkan learned on his journey to the top of a notoriously fast-paced industry always in flux.

 

Ashkan Karbasfrooshan, BComm 99

Ashkan Karbasfrooshan is the founder, CEO and editor-in-chief of WatchMojo, one of the most successful producers of premium video content.

A winner of the 2015 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in the media category, WatchMojo is a Top-50 YouTube channel globally when measured by all-time views (15B) and subscribers (35M). The channel reaches 150 million monthly unique viewers.

Julian McKenzie, BA 16

Julian McKenzie is a freelance journalist, broadcaster, and podcaster based in Montreal. He can be found delivering weather at CTV Montreal, doing SportsCentre updates at TSN 690 Montreal, and writing for the Canadian Press newswire, the Montreal Gazette, FiveThirtyEight.com, and Yahoo! Sports Canada.

Julian is the co-host of an award-winning sports podcast, The Scrum Podcast, with co-host Tristan D'Amours. He has also hosted videos and written scripts for WatchMojo.
