Programs
Political science is a discipline that examines the relationships between governments, institutions and the people they serve.
Undergraduate programs
Our undergraduate programs provide students a foundation for graduate studies; many see a BA in Political Science as a step towards law school. With five sub-disciplines, undergraduate students are encouraged to find an area that sparks their interest:
- Political theory (think Nietzche, Marx, and Machiavelli)
- Comparative politics (the differences between political systems across regions or countries)
- International relations (relations between nations, including NGOs and peacekeeping)
- Public administration and policy (managing government institutions and defining policies)
- Canadian and Quebec politics (including immigration, Indigenous peoples, Charter of Rights and Freedoms)
The Political Science program offers multiple bachelor options.
- BA in Political Science with Major and Honours options
- Experiential learning opportunities through Co-op, Career Edge or an Internship
Minors
- Minor in Political Science
- Minor in Human Rights Studies

Experts-in-Residence
Unique to Concordia, the department hosts a Public Administration Scholar-in-Residence and two Indigenous Governance Experts-in-Residence. These experts bring a direct link from the public service to our students and demysitfy the inner workings of government institutions, Indigenous policies and programs. They teach courses for the Master's in Public Policy and Public Administration program, facilitate workshops and mentor our students.
