Samuel Weigel is a research associate and PhD candidate at the European Centre for Jewish Music at the Hanover University of Music, Drama, and Media in Germany. In his capacity as a research associate at the Institute for Canadian Jewish Studies, Weigel worked on the Mitacs-funded research project "Knowledge Architectures. Mapping Virtual Processes of Digital-Musical Heritagization in Formal and Grassroots Jewish Communities in Montréal". Here, Weigel completed a transnational Canadian-German project exploring how Jewish communities have adapted digital technology and how this has affected their musical- liturgical traditions.
