The John Molson MBA program takes a practical, hands-on approach to business education. Our MBA curriculum emphasizes the use of timely case studies to present material in a way that closely resembles how the business world presents situations to senior managers.

Experiential learning during your MBA studies

You will have the opportunity to learn outside the classroom while gaining credits toward your degree. The hands-on experience, practical knowledge and network developed through these options add tremendous value to your degree. Some of the opportunities listed here are also part of the MBA non-core options (electives), worth 3 or 6 credits each.

Students are encouraged to tailor their program to suit their interests and career goals, making the John Molson MBA unique to each student. Here are some of the ways our MBA students are putting theory into practice.

Case competitions

Case competitions are immersive learning experiences where students work in teams to develop solutions for business cases across disciplines. At the John Molson School of Business, MBA students can participate in the Case Competition Committee and participate in International case competitions. 

MBA Society

The John Molson School of Business MBA Society is an association that represents all John Molson MBA students and works to enhance the MBA experience by providing opportunities for professional growth beyond the classroom.

Community Service Initiative

The Community Service Initiative (CSI) encourages and promotes community service and connects the resources of the John Molson School of Business with the needs of communities including non-profit organizations, social enterprises, small businesses, governmental agencies and institutions.

Concordia Small Business Consulting Bureau

The CSBCB is a dedicated team of MBA students who provide custom solutions for small businesses.

Women in Business Club

The John Molson Women in Business Club (JMWIBC) is an association open to all women who are currently or previously enrolled in a graduate program at the John Molson School of Business.
