Charles Carranza

Current position: Project Manager, IT/PLM
Industry:
Aerospace Engineering
Years of Experience:
14
EMBA Class:
2018

“The EMBA is more than just the courses you take, the knowledge you gain or the three letters you earn.  What makes this program so special is the experience. My classmates have become friends whom I will keep for life, the faculty and staff provide world-class teaching and genuine support, and the program is structured to develop ‘complete executives. The journey is not an easy one, but the investment, both personal and financial, is one that has already started paying dividends.”

Charles holds two degrees from Concordia University. A Bachelor of Science, majoring in Exercise Science and a Bachelor of Engineering, specializing in Software Engineering.

Over the past 14 years, Charles's professional experience has focused on product development, business analysis and project management in the defense (Lockheed Martin), insurance (Oceanwide) and aerospace (Bombardier) industries.

Charles is presently a project manager within the Strategy, Process and Architecture group at Bombardier Aerospace.  For the past six years, he has successfully managed a multitude of projects ranging from the design, implementation and execution of engineering processes and tools for the CSeries and Global 7000 programs, to defining business plans and strategy for various IT projects.

Charles was recently appointed to lead the PLM initiative for all simulation, analysis, ground rig testing and flight testing for the next aircraft development program.

Though he had initially postponed his MBA for seven years to pursue salsa dancing at a semi-professional level and manage his start-up, selling his own branded dance shoes, while working full-time, he decided last year that it was time to realize his lifelong goal of earning his Executive MBA so that he can continue his personal and professional development and make greater contributions within his organization and community.
