Microsoft Project, Visio, and Visual Studio Licenses

Concordia University faculty and staff may purchase Microsoft software, not covered under our agreement with Microsoft, at an educational rate through our software reseller. Perpetual licenses for several Microsoft software and select Microsoft 365 licenses for Visio and Project are available. Licenses can be purchased and installed on university owned computers.

Microsoft Perpetual License

A perpetual license is a one-time fee and includes downgrade rights, allowing users the rights to install earlier versions of the same software. It does not include upgrade rights to the latest version. One license entitles the user to install the software on a single device.

Microsoft 365 License

Microsoft 365 licenses are subscription based. The cost for a license is charged at a pro-rated monthly fee to May 31st each year. The subscription coverage period starts when Microsoft processes the order and ends on May 31st. Closer to the June 1st renewal date, employees may contact the IT Service Desk to request a new quote if they wish to renew their license subscription for another year. Licenses are assigned per user and can be installed on up to 5 PCs.
