Overview

Artch’s mission is to accompany emerging artists in the first stages of professionalization. Not unlike an incubator, each year Artch identifies, trains, finances, mentors and exhibits a new cohorte of artists in the beginning stages of their careers. For four years now, Artch has held an outdoor exhibition in downtown Tio'tia:ke / Montréal. This has undoubtedly become an annual staple for art lovers, art professionals, and the general public. The outdoor public square is completely transformed for the occasion and becomes a space for emerging artists to showcase their works. Artch is a platform that promotes exchanges, and whose goals are to help launch the careers of emerging artists by training and connecting them with the wider visual arts community in Montreal. The project also aims to foster new collectors and initiate the general public to contemporary art, all of this within the optic of building a stronger and more sustainable artistic ecosystem for our city.
