Campus Safety and Prevention Services has a new email address

The email address for Campus Safety and Prevention Services (formerly Security) has changed. You can now reach the department at CSPS@concordia.ca. The previous address, security@concordia.ca, is no longer in use.

Reimagining how safety is understood and practiced

This change reflects efforts to align with the department’s official name, Campus Safety and Prevention Services (CSPS), which was adopted in March 2023 as part of a broader commitment to community care, approachability, and prevention-focused service.

The name change, and now this email update, stems from recommendations made by the President’s Task Force on Anti⁠-⁠Black Racism, which was formed in response to the resurgence of the Black Lives Matter movement and long-standing systemic inequities experienced by Black communities. The task force’s final report, published in October 2022, called on Concordia to reimagine how safety is understood and practiced on campus.

Since then, significant behind-the-scenes work has been carried out to make this transition meaningful, including revising printed materials, updating digital content, redesigning uniforms, and engaging with our community.

Redirecting emails

For now, any emails sent to security@concordia.ca are being automatically redirected to the new address. Senders will also receive a notification informing them of the address change and confirming that their message has been forwarded to the correct inbox.Please update your contact lists accordingly.
