Dr. Cynthia Hammond presents solo exhibition at le Château de la Napoule
Drawing on extensive research in the Château La Napoule’s photographic archives and prolonged immersion in the site, Dr. Cynthia Hammond has developed a body of paintings that brings forth the memory of the gardens imagined by Marie Clews: a shaped and inhabited landscape, crossed by human and animal presences, by history, but also by projection and fiction.
Her works revisit these historical images to open contemporary reflections on care, constraint, coexistence, and our relationship to the living world.
The exhibition unfolds as a thoughtful and immersive journey, where paintings, archival materials, and fragments of the site’s history combine to offer a renewed way of seeing the Château.
