On April 6, the Gail and Stephen A. Jarislowsky Institute for Studies in Canadian Art and the Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies in Society and Culture (CISSC) invite you to join a two-part study circle on Healing, Well-Being, and the Visual Arts.  

  1. 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. Speaking of Photography: Judy Weiser on PhotoTherapy, Therapeutic Photography, and other photo-based helping techniques for improving well-being
  2. 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. Afternoons in the Institute: A Public Conversation on Healing, Well Being, and the Visual Arts

Drawing on the insights and experiences of practitioners, activists, artists, and researchers, the program considers therapeutic and community initiatives, as well as places of healing.

2:30 - 3:30 p.m. EST: Judy Weiser, a pioneer of the PhotoTherapy movement, will speak from her work with individuals and communities using personal and public photographic images.

About Judy Weiser

Judy Weiser, Psychologist, Art Therapist, Photographer, Founder & Director of the PhotoTherapy Centre in Vancouver, and author of PhotoTherapy Techniques: Exploring the Secrets of Personal Snapshots and Family Albums.

She is a pioneer of the photo therapy movement, will speak from her work with individuals and communities using personal and public photographic images.
