Modern Languages
These courses and programs open doors to new ways of understanding the world through the study of other languages, cultures and literatures. The foundational approach to speaking, listening, reading and writing skills gives students an advantage in areas such as education, business, government and the travel industry.
Languages: Arabic, Chinese, Hebrew, German, Italian, Spanish.
Note: Depending on the language studied, students may take individual courses or go on to earn a BA Major, BA Honours, BA Specialization, Minor or Certificate.

Linguistics (BA)
Linguistics courses introduce students to the scientific investigation of the phenomena of language, including in-depth analyses of particular languages. The program provides transferable skills in problem-solving, critical thinking, expository writing and more, which prepares students for jobs in a variety of fields, as well as for graduate study.
Note: The Linguistics (BA) is offered as a Major, Honours or Minor.
