Open scholarship, science, education

Open is now widely understood to include open access publishing while encompassing the broader research and education lifecycle.

Ways of getting involved:

  • Learning more about the open landscape, OA publishing, open data practices, open education, open source software, open methodologies. Decide which open practices are right for you at this point in your career.
  • Learn about your authors' rights.
  • Develop an open-access plan, research data management plan, and knowledge mobilization plan as part of your research practice. A good plan is one that works for you.
  • Participate in open access month every October or open education month every March.  
  • Learn about the history of Concordia's involvement in open as well as the latest from Concordia's Open Science Working Group.
  • Get in touch with colleagues who are already involved in the open landscape.
  • If you don't know where to get started, get in touch with your subject librarian.
