Hours per week: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, during office hours
Start date: September 2026, negotiable
Fixed Term Position: 1 year, with renewal potential based on performance and funding availability
Salary: 36.26 to 41.76 $, plus benefits

About the IRMS
The Institute for Research on Migration and Society (IRMS) is Concordia’s central hub for immigration research. It brings together professors, students, postdoctoral and associate researchers to explore migration dynamics through the social sciences, using both disciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches.
IRMS’s mission is to foster the development of new research, offer training opportunities, and facilitate knowledge transfer beyond academia. The Institute operates in both French and English, contributing to Concordia University’s engagement with Quebec society. We are a growing team, looking for a flexible and motivated person to support our expansion.
Reporting to the Lead, Startegic Development and Operations and the Academic Director, this position combines strategic communications and the coordination of research activities. The candidate will oversee research projects, facilitate the administrative processes related to research grants, and contribute to promoting the work of the Institute's researchers to a wide range of audiences.
Main Responsibilities
Strategic communications and knowledge mobilisation
- Update and deploy the Institute's communication strategy.
- Draft, revise, and disseminate scientifc and institutional content in both French and English.
- Synthesize research findings to make them accessible to different audiences.
- Support the organization of scientific and outreach events and ensure their visibility.
- Manage and develop the IRMS website.
- Plan and publish social media content.
- Produce newsletters, activity reports, researcher profiles, and other institutional publications.
- Design promotional materials consistent with the Institute's brand image.
- Monitor research activities, publications, and visibility opportunities.
- Evaluate communications performance and propose areas for improvement.
Research activities coordination
- Coordinate the administrative follow-up of the Institute's research projects, including timelines, deliverables, and reports.
- Support researchers in preparing funding applications and coordinate the production of required documents (CVs, insitutional forms, letters of support, appendices, etc.).
- Maintain institutional databases related to projects, publications, funding, students, and partners.
- Gather the information needed for institutional reports, evaluations, and accountability exercises.
Desired Profile
- Graduate-level university education in communications, social sciences, public administration, public policy, or related fields. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience in project coordination, ideally in a university or research setting.
- Excellent command of French and English, both spoken and written, with strong writing skills in both languages.
- Demonstrated ability to understand, synthesize, and popularize research findings.
- Highly autonomous with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with varying deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ease collaborating with researchers from different disciplines.
- Proficiency with digital communication tools (social media, email campaigns, project management tools).
Will be considered an asset:
- Knowledge of Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and InDesign is an asset.
- Experience with grant applications, research ethics processes, or research administration.
- Knowledge of issues related to migration, public policy, or social sciences research.
Salary and benefits
Salary will be determined according to job-related training and experience. Salary range will be determined based on the AERC/CARE collective agreement. The position includes a benefits package (health and dental plan, life insurance and sick leave, pension plan, and long-term disability plan). The position is subject to all conditions outlined in the CARE collective agreement.
