Clues, sometimes in the form of objects, are used to tell a narrative of older adult mistreatment.

Researchers from the ACTLab will present their game “Her apartment” in Quebec City as part of the Forum sur la maltraitance, which is organized by the Secrétariat aux aînés of the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux (MSSS). The workshop has been co-designed by the ACTLab, the Centre de recherche et d’expertise en gérontologie sociale (CREGÉS) and the community organization Respecting Elders: Communities Against Abuse (RECAA).

About the workshop

"Her apartment" is an interactive workshop that is based on an escape room on older adult mistreatment that is located in ACT’s offices at Concordia University. The players are invited to work together in small teams solve a series of puzzles centered around the life of a fictional protagonist. As they progress in the game, the players learn about older adult mistreatment. You can visit the ACTLab website to find out more about the escape room.
