Salary: $50, 000 - $70,000 per annum, plus benefits, commensurate with education and experience

Position title: Financial Officer, IRMS

Description and context
With functional reporting to the Administrative Director, IRMS, the Financial Officer provides comprehensive financial management, analysis, and coordination services for all IRMS research operations. The position ensures accurate and timely management of all financial transactions, develops financial models and projections, maintains compliance with university financial policies, and serves as the primary liaison with various university units on behalf of IRMS.
Roles and responsibilities
- Monitoring IRMS research grant accounts, ensuring accounts receivables and payables are accurate and up to date; expenditures are within budget, and ensuring expenses are compliant with University financial policies and procedures.
- Reviewing and validating financial reports and providing guidance to the Administrative Director and IRMS Director to ensure accurate and timely approval of Financial Reports.
- Developing budget models and financial projections for research projects and IRMS activities under supervision of the Administrative Director.
- Producing and submitting P-card, T-card expenses and other expense reports via SAP Concur in a timely manner.
- Liaising with Procurement Services and Accounts Payable in placing and coordinating orders to internal and external suppliers, in addition to ensuring the timely payment and processing of invoices.
- Assisting IRMS Leadership in preparing comprehensive budgets and financial plans when applying for external funding opportunities.
- Maintaining regular communication and coordination with various university units on behalf of IRMS as it relates to efficient Financial Management.
- Other research tasks as outlined by the Director and Administrative Director, IRMS.
Job requirements
- Undergraduate Degree in a relevant discipline or minimum of 5 years of related experience in accounting/bookkeeping, corporate finance management or assistance to corporate senior management.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
Will be considered an asset:
Fluency in English and French considered a strong asset.
Experience in supporting and working with researchers and research projects in a university environment considered an asset
Experience with SAP and Unity an asset
