PUBLIC ART
The eclectic collection is a compilation of donations and commissions that feature renowned international artists with a range of media that includes large-scale sculpture, painting, photography and kinetic art.
Those that pass through, remain, return, by artist and alumnus Charles Campbell
New artwork will soon be on display in the atrium of the Henry F. Hall Building
Since Charles Campbell was selected to create the inaugural artwork for the Honouring Black Presence at Concordia public art program, he has been working with Black faculty and students at Concordia and Black individuals in the Montreal community to create his installation.
The artwork features “Breath Portraits” which are sound recordings of the breath of Black individuals with a relationship to the university and Montreal. Audio spectrograms turn the recordings into towering, colourful images.
