Career Management Services (CMS)
In addition to job postings, CMS offers JMSB students a wealth of information, professional expertise and vocational databases related to a broad selection of business related careers. Register for special events and workshops to help with job search strategies, interview preparations and more. Career Discovery and Job Descriptions
  • Careers in Finance
    This site allows you to explore different careers available to you in the field of Finance. For each career path, you will find an overview, along with skill requirements, background reading and links to more resources.

  • Career Cruising
    A selection of tools to help students plan their future and choose a career. Contains occupation profiles including career advice from those in the field, information on study programs and statistical data. To search for careers in finance, simply login, switch the interface to English, and click on the Careers tab that appears at the top of the page.

    To access this resource remotely, you need to be a member of the Grande Bibliotheque (BAnQ). Registration is free for Quebec residents and can be requested online.

  • National Occupational Classification
    The NOC is the nationally accepted reference on occupations in Canada. It organizes approximately 30,000 job titles into 520 occupational group descriptions. To browse for descriptions, select "index of titles" from the drop down menu, and then "alphabetical" as your search method to get a complete list of occupations.
  • Job Futures - Quebec
    Get detailed job descriptions on many areas of business and finance. This includes information on job requirements, training, trends, outlook and professional statistics for the province. To find job profiles for other areas/cities in Canada, please visit the Working in Canada site for Finance related occupations.

  • Kerosene
    This is a site that specializes in recruiting Finance and Accounting professionals for the Montreal region. Submit applications directly from the site.

  • Eluta.ca
    Eluta's advanced search allows you to look for postings by occupation/industry. You can also search for vacancies by top employers for a given province or at the national level.

  • Career Management Services
    Job postings that are restricted to JMSB students only.

  • WowJobs
    This freely available site gathers job postings from over 6,000 sources Canada wide and includes unique features such as salary search, RSS feeds, email alerts, and resume postings. Please note that the salary search feature is only available on the English version of the site found at this link

  • SEDAR
    SEDAR is the electronic filing system for the disclosure documents of public companies across Canada. Get access to company annual reports and statements for free. For US public companies, please visit EDGAR.

  • Mergent Intellect 
    Directory of private and public Canadian companies, with company size, corporate structure and contact information available for each company. This database also lets you to build your own list of companies.

  • IBISWorld
    Use this database to find Canadian, US and Chinese industry information, trends and outlook. Reports are updated twice a year.

  • FP Advisor
    Data on all Canadian public companies, as well as a growing list of Canadian private companies. To generate a list of companies, click on the "Corporate Surveys" link within FP Advisor.

  • Canadian Business Resource
    Profiles of over 6,000 Canadian companies that includes historical and current information. In addition, CBR also has executive and board member profiles as well as their contact information.

  • International Business Careers and Jobs
    Detailed information for those considering an international career. This site includes a section on international finance associations and international law among others. In addition, there is also a helpful section about business etiquettes for different countries.

  • Going Global
    An excellent site that provides country profiles and career information for each particular nation. Site includes information such as job resources, interview and cultural advice.

  • eFinancial Careers
    An international site that provides a list of job opportunities from around the world. Choose your country at the top left-hand side of the site. They also provide a section for students that explains each financial sector as well as information for specific career paths (e.g. key players; roles and career paths; skills sought; and career case studies).

    Create a custom report to find out an approximate salary range based on your experience and education.

  • BCom and MBA Employment Data
    View the final employment results that are based on McGill's BCom and MBA graduating classes. The site includes data on Investment Banking, Financial Services and Corporate Finance.

  • Labour Market Information Canada
    Find out the wages and salaries for each position in Canada. Search can be filtered down to the regional level.

  • Factiva
    Connect to the major business newspapers and magazines from around the world including Forbes, Barron's, and the Wall Street Journal. Canadian content includes the Globe and Mail and the National Post. Read the latest newspapers online in the "News Pages" section of the database.

  • Eureka.cc
    Provides full text access to English and French language Canadian newspapers, magazines, newswires, blogs and broadcast transcripts. Exceptional for access to regional and local Canadian news sources.

  • Bloomberg Business Week
    Latest business news from Europe, US and Asia.

  • Canadian Business
    Latest finance and business news impacting local markets. Content includes access to Profit Magazine and Moneysense.

    Youth Employment Services Montreal offers various workshops at low and sometimes no cost at all. Attend sessions on how to improve your resume, prepare for the job interview and more. You can find a list of all their workshops on the Events Calendar section.

  • Canadian Securities Institute
    CSI offers training courses that correspond to your career interests and goals in finance. Find information about which course/certification is right for you.

  • Concordia's Finance and Investment Students' Association (FISA)
    FISA provides students with the opportunity to further enhance their business knowledge, improve their interpersonal skills and establish key business contacts. Visit FISA's events page for list of professional seminars and events.

  • Info Entrepreneurs
    Bilingual site that is more of interest to those starting their own business. They provide access to consultants, mentors, research documents and assistance for business plans as part of their services.
