Design and computation arts subject guide

  • Sofia Discovery tool (online resource): this is the online tool that Concordia University Library uses to manage its collection. Sofia provides access to publications including books and e-books, journals, eJournal articles, videos and e-videos, etc.
  • Google Books (search engine): this resource identifies citations as well as partial and fully digitized books.

  • ACM Digital Library (database): ACM provides access to full text and abstracts of journals covering computer science,  software engineering, networking, and more 
  • Communication & Mass Media Complete (database): provides access to articles confering cultural communication, media studies, film, etc.
  • IEEE Xplore (database): this resource covers publishing in many fields including circuits, communication systems, computer engineering, robotics and more
  • INSPEC (Engineering village) (database): this resource covers publishing in fields such as electrical engineering, electronic, computing, and more

Interdisciplinary Databases

  • Academic Search Complete (database): this resource provides access to scholarly, multidisciplinary literature including journals, monographs, report, etc.
  • Erudit Scholarly Journals (CRKN) (online platform): this resource provides access to English and French journals, magazines, theses, etc. published in Quebec, Canada, and elsewhere
  • JSTOR (database): provides access to journal abstracts and articles from a wide range of fields. It also includes a database of art images
  • Google Scholar (search engine): searches the internet for academic publishing in the form of books and journal articles from a wide range of disciplines (may be set up to provide access to content available at Concordia Library, Settings for Library - Concordia)
  • CORE (database): this resource provides access to open access research papers worldwide (apply the filter Type: Thesis to your results)
  • Open Access Theses and Dissertations (database): OATD gives access to theses and dissertations from around the world
  • ProQuest Theses and Dissertations (database): PQTD provies access to theses and dissertations from around the world
  • Spectrum Research Repository (database): Concordia University's openly accessible, digital repository fro theses, dissertations and other research
  • Theses Canada (database): provides openly accessible Canadian theses and dissertations 
  • Find: Theses, dissertations and research papers (website): this Concordia webpage provides tips, strategies, and links to theses, dissertations and research papers at Concordia and elsewhere
