The leisure needs of people who care for individuals living with dementia has received relatively little attention in research and practice. This panel discussion will bring together care partners, academics and a therapeutic recreation specialist to highlight some key findings of research conducted that aimed to discover ways to enhance social experiences and a sense of belonging for individuals with dementia and their care partners through leisure participation.

Care partners, academics and a therapeutic recreation specialist who will speak directly about their needs and experiences in relation to leisure. Breakout room discussions will provide an opportunity to focus on the possibilities that exist for personally rewarding leisure engagement.
