Bachelor of Engineering (BEng)

Academic programs

The Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science offers BEng degrees that prepare you for entry into the engineering profession. You may choose from any of these fields of study for your engineering degree:

Within each of these programs, you have the opportunity to specialize in many areas from aerospace to environment, to telecommunications, to name only a few. Every engineering program also gives you the opportunity to take part in a Co–operative education program

Degree requirements

All engineering programs contain the following three components:

Engineering core

These required courses give you a thorough grounding in the basics of engineering. You take most core courses at the beginning of the program.

Program core

Program core courses familiarize you with analysis and design aspects of your chosen field of study.

Technical Electives

Electives provide you with the opportunity to focus on a particular aspect or sub-discipline of their field of study. Each program offers technical electives, sometimes grouped into options.

Extended credit program

If you graduated from a secondary school outside Quebec, you will study at Concordia through our Extended Credit Program (ECP). As an ECP student, you take a minimum of 30 credits in addition to regular (120 credit) degree program requirements. All engineering programs have specific required or recommended first-year courses for ECP students.

Consult each specific engineering program to see what they are.
