Evangelical Christianity's influence has permeated all aspects of society, with prominent figures like Donald Trump and Jair Bolsonaro taking leadership roles. From the Cold War to the present day, we will discuss a new documentary series entitled "Evangelicals: From Faith to Power" with one of its co-producers, Dr. Philippe Gonzalez. After screening Part 1 of the documentary, we will examine the movement's impressive rise on a global level, showcasing its growing impact in religious, social, and political spheres. Dr. Philippe Gonzalez is a distinguished Senior Lecturer and Researcher specializing in the Sociology of Communication and Culture at the University of Lausanne. His research is centered around the involvement of Evangelical Protestantism in the public sphere. In 2014, he authored Que ton règne vienne: des évangéliques tentés par le pouvoir absolu (Labor et Fides), a seminal work that sheds light on the theological-political claims of evangelicals in today's world. Taking place in the John Molson School of Business, Room MB 2.130
