Concordia University’s Department of Journalism trains award-winning journalists who are working across Canada and around the world.
Our alumni also use the skills they learn to launch meaningful careers in communications, public relations, law, politics, policy analysis, marketing, and digital strategy.
Special funding for out-of-province students
Up to $4,000 for undergraduate programs.
Up to $9,251 for Master's programs.

Creative, experiential learning
Our programs combine hands-on production classes and thought-provoking lectures that train students to become dynamic storytellers and critical thinkers. Our graduates are strongly equipped to take on the ever-changing media landscape as journalists and content creators.
We offer an undergraduate program, two graduate diploma programs and a master’s program.

Inspiring student innovation
Our students experiment with multi-media, including video, audio, writing, and social media, pushing the boundaries of journalism and content creation. They come away with strong work portfolios to help them launch their careers.

Leaders in journalism research & scholarship
We’re committed to training highly-skilled communicators and storytellers, who use their critical thinking skills to excel in research and innovation. Our students are immersed in research that focuses on digital innovation in journalism, which includes Science Journalism, Decolonizing Journalism, Solutions Journalism, Lifestyle Journalism, Politcal Journalism, Podcasting, Documentary, and the Political Economy of Journalism.
