PERFORM Colloquium: Why and how to maintain a good sleep in a time of crisis

Thank you for everyone who participated in the PERFORM Colloquium "Why and how to maintain a good sleep during crisis". Unfortunately we received many questions that we did not have time to respond to.  Many questions were requesting a medical consultation for a specific problem.  Please refer to the website, where you can find many answers to your questions.  You can also visit the Canadian Sleep Society site at or the Fondation sommeil website at for additional information. The current pandemic and the resulting restrictions have caused extensive disruption to our daily lives.

These changes generate stress that can interfere with our sleep.

What are the consequences of this stress for our sleep patterns? Why is it important to take care of our sleep requirements in this time of crisis, especially for the most vulnerable? How can we maintain good sleep quality under these conditions?

All of these questions will be addressed in our online conference.


Speaker Bio:

Dr. Dang-Vu is a neurologist with expertise in sleep medicine. He is a Professor in the Department of Health, Kinesiology and Applied Physiology at Concordia University, and holds a Concordia University Research Chair in Sleep, Neuroimaging and Cognitive Health. In addition, he is the director of the Sleep, Cognition and Neuroimaging Lab (SCNLab). Dr. Dang-Vu is a researcher at the PERFORM Centre and the Center for Studies in Behavioral Neurobiology. He is also a researcher and the Associate Director for Clinical Research at the Centre de Recherche de l’Institut Universitaire de Gériatrie de Montréal (CRIUGM), affiliated with Université de Montréal. His expertise includes human sleep physiology, sleep disorders and the use of neuroimaging in sleep research. Dr. Dang-Vu leads the scientific activities and strategic directions of the PERFORM Sleep Lab.
