Inflatable Deities
Eyelash Wars
September 2 – October 19, 2014
Vernissage September 4, 5p.m. to 7p.m.
Artists collective Inflatable Deities (Emily Pelstring and Jessica Mensch) venture into their respective backgrounds in painting, set design, animation, experimental film and video installation to present Eyelash Wars, an expanded fiction that spectacularizes the competing commercial displays of two rival vendors of beauty products. The small town’s caricatured inhabitants dance against black-lit cartoon landscapes to a warped new-age rap soundtrack: dreams are woven and unraveled amidst melodrama and physical comedy.
