Academic Programs Committee (SAPC)
The School Academic Programs Committee (SAPC) is a standing committee of the Council of the School of Health.
Description of the committee
The School of Health Academic Programs Committee (SAPC) has delegated authority from and a reporting responsibility to Council for matters relating to the creation, revision, management, and quality of both undergraduate and graduate academic programs and courses in the SOH. Following Council's approval, recommendations of the SAPC are forwarded to the University Senate or the Council of the School of Graduate Studies, as appropriate.
Role
- Recommend to the Council the creation of new academic programs, and changes to existing academic programs and courses offered by the SoH. In doing so, the SAPC will be guided by the University’s Teaching & Learning Plan (2025) or its successor.
- Recommend policies which contribute to community-building activities, effective interaction and allocation of physical and human resources between the various academic programs.
- Act upon directives from Council concerning the management of all academic programs.
- Receive written briefs on any aspects of academic programs from any faculty or student member of the SOH.
