Masterclasses and leadership development program

Developing emerging municipal leaders

To meet challenges faced by cities, municipal leaders need a professional development program that provides them with fundamental leadership principles and updated practical leadership tools.

We want municipal employees and elected representatives to develop skills that enable them to obtain specialized training.

For example, you could take a mini course or attend a seminar in certain areas within your field of competence.

How the participants develop strong skills

  • application-based learning
  • highly interactive activities
  • authentic self-reflection
  • personalized coaching
  • government-wide networking

Benefit from effective learning and teaching strategies

  • case studies and problem-based learning
  • peer and collaborative learning
  • reflective practice
  • laboratory and field work
  • interactive sessions and debating

Designed specifically around SDGs' impact in the workplace, this fellowship aims to be an immersive program that places fellows in cohorts to enable new networking and learning opportunities with city government leaders.

Residencies

In these placement opportunities, faculty and municipal leaders are embedded in municipal government divisions and research centres.
