Writing and Editing with Clarity and Purpose (Online)

Course Code: CEPS 1129EO
Are you being clear? Concise? Compelling? If not, you might as well stop writing because nobody’s going to read you. The truth is, how you say something is often more important than what you’re saying. So, if you’d like to sharpen your skills and communicate more effectively, join professional editor Giuseppe Valiante for this powerful, hands-on workshop that’s sure to give you all the write stuff.

Your take-away

This workshop will empower you to:
• Understand and control the three basic elements of written communication: Style, Content and Form;
• Structure and present your ideas to specific audiences, including clients and employees;
• Hone editing skills to address often overlooked fundamental errors made in business writing;
• identify the components of proper sentence structure and apply techniques to reduce sentence clutter, increase word economy and structure ideas clearly and compellingly.

Our approach

This workshop is based on an optimized practical approach that mixes active learning, instructor-led group editing, and individual exercises focused on current news articles as well as on works of fiction and nonfiction. In short, you’ll learn by doing and sharing.

Who benefits the most?
