GOVERNANCE, RISK AND COMPLIANCE

Course Code: CECR 1002
If your IT system were an island unto itself, life would be easy. But it’s not. It’s part of a larger world, inseparable from political, criminal and technological realities and this course will help you better understand them all. It starts with understanding the governance structures, roles, responsibilities and where you fit into an organization. Next, you’ll be introduced to risk, vulnerability and incident-management strategies to help ensure business continuity. You’ll learn how to use security frameworks to create controls, processes, documentation and systems to mitigate risk and align solutions with business needs. And you’ll gain experience communicating risk-related information effectively. This course has a lot to offer. Are you up to the challenge?
*** Note that you will be required to do 5-10 hours of work per week outside of class time. Those with little to no prior knowledge will require more time to gain familiarity with the concepts. ***
