Driving innovation for a decarbonized future
Explore our projects
Volt-Age supports cutting-edge research that advances electrification and its benefits for society. Through our funding programs, we accelerate transformative ideas that contribute to Canada’s energy transition. We support three types of projects:
Impact Projects focus on large-scale technological innovation.
Living Labs bring researchers and societal partners together to test ideas in real-world settings.
Seed Projects support early-stage research aimed at exploring new approaches and validating emerging ideas.
Together, these initiatives are shaping a future where electrification drives sustainability and shared prosperity.

Building on this research foundation, Volt-Age also leads initiatives that broaden engagement with electrification and its societal impacts. Programs such as the Volt-Age Exhibition highlight student perspectives on the clean energy transition and shared prosperity, extending Volt-Age research beyond academia and into public dialogue.
Volt-Age is funded by a $123-million grant from the Canada First Research Excellence Fund.
