Sophie completed her MSc  in Economics  at Université de Montreal, and a graduate diploma in Business Administration at John Molson School of Business.  She has been part of the Lifestyle and Addiction Research Lab from 2010 while completing her graduate studies. Her work with Dr. Kairouz in the ENHJEU-Quebec project has inspired her to study the economic impacts of gambling. In her M.A. project, she worked on the economic cost and benefits of the opening of the Loto-Quebec online casino.

Her interest in data analysis in social sciences and statistics are varied and lead her to work on multiple projects in social sciences including market evaluation of new projects in a minority community, AIDS prevention in Canada and health care. Since then she has worked on different social issues project, including integration of minority community and evaluation of new markets.
